Are you a Blogger?
According to WordPress, over 409 million people view over 20 million blog posts each month. The popularity of blogs continues to grow and now many business owners are using blogs to talk about their brand, share their expertise, promote products and much more. A business blog can produce more traffic to your website, improve brand familiarity and extend your reach to your target audience.
So, what makes blogging so popular? Well, a blog is simple to create and easy to promote. Blogging shares more about who you are and what your company is all about. Writing a blog allows you to make your company shine in an interactive format with your audience. Most importantly, a blog can help your readers see your personality.
Here are some thoughts and ideas to help you get started or enhance your blogging experience.
If you already have a website this is the most common place for a blog. You can create a separate section for you blog and store all your content there. Just like social media posts, your blog posts should be consistent, regular blogging drives more traffic to your site. Focus on quality of content as opposed to quantity. Provide as much information as possible to make your blog stand out.
One of the key elements of a blog is the name. A good blog name should be descriptive so that potential visitors can instantly tell what your blog is about just from the name.
To create content for your blog, begin by making a list of ideas. Think about your target audience and what information they might be looking for. Your blog could include interviews, how-to’s, product reviews, frequently asked questions, lists or guides. You can also add seasonal/holiday posts, share personal stories, highlight your employees and more. Make sure your content comes from your own knowledge, your experience, your thoughts and your heart.
Keep points brief and information relevant. Break up sections into 2-3 sentences for easier reading. The use of images, graphics and links can make your blog visually appealing and holds the reader’s attention.
Include a call to action with a page button that encourages an association back to your business. End your blog with a question – this is a great way to keep the conversation going with your audience.
Incorporate your blog as part of your marketing strategy by using your blog content in social media posts. Make sure to link the content back to your blog on your website to encourage visitors to check out all you have to offer.
